Psychologist - Waikato & BOP

PSYCHOLOGIST

  • Improve outcomes for clients
  • Further your career within an exciting field of work within the disability sector
  • Personal and professional development
  • Flexible working hours to suit the right candidate

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Enrich+ within the Specialist Services Team for a Psychologist, delivering services to people in the disability sector in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. The role will allow the successful applicant to flexibly deliver a range of evidence-based interventions to our growing client base.

Our vision at Enrich+ is to enable the people we support to ‘have a life like any other’. We pride ourselves on excellence, professionalism and on being driven by the people we support. We are looking for people who are passionate about supporting others, and excited about opportunities as the service grows and develops. Our Specialist Services include diagnostic assessment and ongoing support for autistic individuals, particularly those with a dual diagnosis, behaviour support to a range of clients across our wider Enrich+ services and delivery of ACC Psychological Services. Our ideal candidate would have a keen interest or speciality in one of more of these areas.

As a Psychologist you will be responsible for:

  • Working with individuals to provide quality, holistic, individualised programmes of intervention and outcomes as identified through thorough assessment
  • Providing specialist support and training to Enrich+ staff and others as applicable
  • Maintaining a high standard of expertise, both practical and theoretical in your own discipline

Our ideal candidate would:

  • be a Registered Psychologist (or eligible to register if returning to the workforce), with a current APC, under general or clinical scope OR be registered as an Intern Psychologist and looking for a change in roles, whilst already enrolled in an internship programme through university
  • have proven work experience with those with dual diagnoses (disability and mental health)
  • have knowledge and understanding of how young people and adults with autism see the world
  • have previous experience, or an interest in developing skills working with people who have experienced trauma. Prior experience delivering ACC Psychological Services would be an advantage
  • be familiar with ACT, CBT and similar evidence-based therapies, modified as needed to suit the population of clients
  • have a willingness to interact and support a broad range of people with different needs
  • have a clean full driver’s license, as work across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty will be essential.

Working independently and as part of a small team, sound judgement and the ability to make decisions, as well as strong time management, planning, organisational and written and verbal communication skills are also essential. Membership with either NZPsS or NZCCP would be an advantage.

If you are looking to make a difference and utilise your experience and knowledge, then we want to hear from you! We have options for permanent part time or full time to be negotiated with the right candidate.

If the above sounds like you but you aren’t looking for a permanent position, we are also seeking Registered Psychologists to contract – particularly for ACC work.
