Our Recruitment Process

Stage One – Submitting an application

Covering Letter and CV

Your cover letter should outline the relevant skills and experience you can bring to the position, and explain why you are the best person for the job. We recommend that you review the job description (you can find this on the job details page for the position), this will help ensure that your cover letter is specific for the position you are applying for.

Make sure your CV is up-to-date, including the dates you were employed in each role, as well as a summary of responsibilities and key achievements. It would be great to know your interests outside of work as well. Remember to include your contact details!

We will respond to you either by email or phone to advise on the progress of your application.

Please note that we may choose to close a vacancy prior to its advertised closing date. This may be because we have received a large number of applications sooner than expected. As a result, if you see a position you are interested in we recommend that you submit an application as soon as you can.

Stage Two – Interviews

Interviews are the key step in our selection process, we take a relaxed approach and you’ll be able to ask lots of questions too. We’re impressed by people who are proactive and show initiative, so we encourage you to find out a bit about us before coming in to see us.

Application Form

You will need to bring a completed application form to your interview. You’ll be asked to provide details including your contact details, details about your eligibility to work in New Zealand, and other general information. You will need Adobe Reader to view the Application Form and can download Adobe Reader for free.

Stage Three – Site Visits

For some of our positions we will invite you to a site visit, where you get the opportunity to spend time with the people we support alongside our current great employees. This enables you to get a real feel for what the job will be about.

Stage Four – Further Assessments

We like to speak to at least two referees, including your current employer where possible and ideally at management level. We also conduct various background checks, and depending on the position you have applied for may consist of a combination of the following:

– criminal conviction check

– driver licence check

– verification of identity

– qualification check

We will ask you for your consent before we complete these checks.

Stage Five – Offer

Successful applicants will be advised of the details by phone and this will be followed by an offer in writing. An offer is always subject to the checks we complete.
